Commented this as well on the other post, but will also put it on this one as well.

Nowhere in the story have I seen or heard that Ellen is against Inuit hunting and harvesting seals. I appreciate the beauty of our culture and the necessity of subsistence harvesting, but some of these #sealfie pictures of Inuit hunting and cutting up seals isn't likely to change her mind. To me, it says she is against the Canadian commercial seal harvest not actually against Inuit People hunting. Two totally different issues. Thoughts?

A very valid point Kaglukark but i think that it was so great to see what was said by many many people in videos on social media sites and on the news, what people have to say about their culture and how the seals are very needed for food and warm clothing. How it spread like wildfire all over the news Facebook twitter, youtube on how seal is still traditionally used in the inuit culture. It was amazing to see all the pictures and comments that inuit and people made to this fiasco and it would be really interesting to see the comments or the response from Ellen especially what she has to say how could she not it's practically everywhere!

I agree with kaglukark, we hunt seals here as well and it has in no way bothered me.

Great points were made and I loved the outcome from it, with all the response, and showing pride for the culture which is wonderful. There has been so much suppression over the years, and its nice to see people speak out on culture and beliefs, as long as it stays in the right frame of mind. :D
